Professional Goals
Professional Goals
What are the teacher’s measurable goals, as directly related to Domain 3?
Professional Goals:
1. My first Professional Goal for the 2014-2015 school year is to share my growing knowledge base of technology with my colleagues.
Strategies/Activities: How will the teacher specifically implement the goals identified above?
I will present at the ISD-Wide professional development event held on October 15. Additionally, I will present to the ISD ELA PLC on November 24. My ultimate goal will be to present at UP MACUL.
I am pleased and proud to report that I accomplished all of the afore mentioned professional goals. I feel that this year I was a resource for my colleagues who sought tech assistance and tech ed integration.
2. My second Professional Goal for the 2014-2015 is to create a Weebly site that includes unit
materials, information, and assessments for all my classes.
Strategies/Activities: How will the teacher specifically implement the goals identified above?
I have spent hours building and maintaing my Weebly site. I feel it has added the level of transparency I have been searching for in my teaching. I want students, parents, colleagues, and administrators to be able to access the information they need regarding my courses. Without a doubt, moving my content to a digital platform has enhanced my instruction. Prior to posting each link, assignment, or video, I needed to evaluate the usefulness of each resource on a level I may not have considered before "going digital." I need to ensure that my ideas are clear, concise, and consistent with the Common Core and 21st Century Classroom Readiness concepts. Thus, as I was building my Weebly this year, I eliminated several assignments that I felt had outlasted their usefulness in the face of education's rapidly changing expectations.
In addition to building Weebly pages for each unit of each class I teach, including my newest endeavor, Genius Hour. I also built teacher resource pages for professional development in Common Core Curriculum and Technology. Additionally, I maintain a SADD site and a Room 100 Blog.
3. My third Professional Goal is to apply the Michigan Educational Technology Standards (METS) in as many ways possible. Because I have a classroom set of iPads, I want to take advantage of the opportunity to have my students improve technology skills.
Strategies/Activities: How will the teacher specifically implement the goals identified above?
In my heart of hearts I feel I have utilized the 1:1 iPad environment to its fullest. That said, I still have more integration I would like to build into my instruction. In the end, though, I know I have used the iPads to the best of my ability this year and because of this, I know my students have improved their technology skills. I have met nearly each of the METS in my instruction, and my students have increased their skills as a result. The following have been the focus of my technology integration:
