A "Grow" and a "Glow" for Genius Hour
Genius Hour Grow
Next year when I introduce Genius Hour, I will spend more time showing students what good blogging looks like. This might be easier next year because I will have this year's student Genius Hour pages to use as examples. Nonetheless, I wish I would have modeled my expectations for in-depth reflection.
Genius Hour Glow
I know that Genius Hour is working because I have had several students ask if they could change their initial proposals. After attempting to work out "the bugs" for their projects for a few weeks, students are realizing that they need to "tweak" their plans a bit to allow for issues they hadn't initially anticipated. This is great news for me because it means that kids are THINKING and REFLECTING and QUESTIONING and those are all things that make me HAPPY.
