Lesson Plans for the Week of April 18, 2016
The Common Core State Standards are listed in the weekly lesson plans for English 10 and English 12. The syllabus for AP Lit has been approved by the College Board which satisfies the CCSS requirements.

English 10
MondayStudents will read about Walt Whitman. They will study several of his poems and then they will spend time writing their list poems, Assignment #8

TuesdayStudents will continue to work on their poetry elements chart. This is due at the end of the hour.

WednesdayStudents can use the Chrome Books to do any of the following: finish the Poetry Elements chart, begin working on typing the poems and the paragraph explanations for the poetry portfolio (make sure the paragraphs include what poetic elements were used in each poem), research tongue twisters and follow the instructions for the tongue twister assignment in the poetry packet.

ThursdayStudents will either work on Genius Hour or they will work on their poetry portfolios. American Literature Poetry Unit test on Tuesday. Poetry Portfolio due on Thursday.

WednesdayStudents will use class time today to do one (or both) of the following: finish typing then printing parts V and VI, or reading Chapters 2 and 3 of Night. Quiz on Chapters 1, 2, and 3 on Thursday.

MondayStudents will work on Parts V and VI of the research paper. Students will submit parts V and VI to turnitin.com
