Lesson Plans for the Week of February 8, 2016
The Common Core State Standards are listed in the weekly lesson plans for English 10 and English 12. The syllabus for AP Lit has been approved by the College Board which satisfies the CCSS requirements.

English 10
MondayStudents will finish their speeches. When they are finished, they will respond to Blog Post #6: What is your 5 step plan to make sure you are able to complete your Genius Hour Project in May?

Tuesday

WednesdayThe guidance office will help students with mapping out their schedules for junior year.
|
ThursdayStudents will begin reading Of Mice and Men (OMAM).
They will be introduced to the OMAM activity packet which will serve as the foundation for the rhetorical analysis of the text. Students will work on the OMAM Practice Activities for Chapter 1. Pages 1-4 of packet due tomorrow.

FridayStudents will read Chapters 2-3 of OMAM.

Advanced Placement English Literature and Composition
MondayStudents will analyze their essays from Friday. Then they will be introduced to the various literary criticisms for Unit 10.2.

Tuesday Students will read The Yellow Wallpaper in class and finish for homework. They will take notes according to the Literary Criticism they were assigned in class on Monday.

WednesdayStudents will meet with the people in their Literary Criticism group to exchange their notes and observations about the story. The last half of the class will be an informal discussion of the Yellow Wallpaper

ThursdayStudents will practice Multiple Choice. After the MC practice, students will work on their Literary Movements pages of read from TEWWG.

FridayStudents will use today to either work on their Literary Movements Weebly page or read from TEWWG |
English 12
MondayStudents will continue working on parts III and IV. The first draft of this section is due on Wednesday.

TuesdayStudents will be introduced to The Great Gatsby. They will receive their books and reading assignment.

WednesdayStudents will read from Gatsby. Parts III and IV of rough draft due today.

ThursdayStudents will continue their study of Gatsby. Quiz on Monday. |
