Lesson Plans for the Week of August 28, 2017
The Common Core State Standards are listed in the weekly lesson plans for English 10 and English 12. The syllabus for AP Lit has been approved by the College Board which satisfies the CCSS requirements.

Students will participate in the following:

Homework: Read the Garden Party by Katherine Mansfield
Parent Signed or Digital Submission of Syllabus, BYOD, and Digital Citizenship Contract
Students will connect Foster's "How to Read Literature Like a Professor" to several writing prompts related to the Garden Party. Students will use their knowledge of Foster's text for this activity.

Students will connect Foster's "How to Read Literature Like a Professor" to The Catcher in The Rye. Students will have 30 minutes to make their connections.
Students will learn about Socratic Seminars. They will come prepared for their first Socratic Seminar on Catcher in the Rye on Tuesday.
